The Romans were the people that left more marks in the Termas S. Pedro do Sul. The bridge that crosses the river and the ruins of the “Balneum Romoano”, are considered National Heritage, that can be contemplated and have got a certain historic weight because of D. Afonso Henriques, the fist King of Portugal visited the local Thermal Baths in September 1152, after he was injured in the Badajoz battle.
